Wedding Planning Checklist

You can do a lot in nine months…

You could learn a bit of karate, a modicum of French or create a new life with your Karate loving French teacher…

When it comes to wedding planning though, you really can do a lot in nine months.

The trouble is, that there is SO much to do, it’s easy to lose track of where you are in the wedding planning process.

What would be super helpful would be if someone…ANYONE…created a “9 Months to go Wedding Planning Checklist”…

If you’re wondering if it’s possible to make money from planning your own wedding, rather than just spending it, it is! Click here to find out how

Here are a few of the key points:

Buy the Wedding Dress

As a chap, I’m not totally au fait with the whole wedding dress buying thing, so I’m just going to assume that this is one of those simple and easy choices, like choosing what napkin fold to have on the table or the font of the table plan.

I have bought a pair of jeans before though, so I’ll give you some advice I learned from that transaction. Hopefully, it’ll be of some use:

  • Primark is open late nights on Thursday,
  • If you reach to the back of the rack, you’ve got a 12% chance of finding something that hasn’t been tossed to the floor at some point,
  • If you keep the receipt, you can get a refund upto 30 days later.

I’m just going to duck now…. *DUCKS*

Get Healthy

If you need to squeeze into that wedding dress or want to rock hard six pack (just like I have), now is the time to start thinking about getting healthy and exercising.

Not that you need to mind, because, as far as I’m concerned you already look awesome as you are.

Too many brides and grooms try to lose weight or get ripped too late. This results in them making unhealthy choices – crash diets and over exercising – both of which rob you of the vital energy you’ll need to really enjoy your day – and, let’s be honest, that’s the most important thing you need to focus on.

So, if you want to lose weight or change your looks for your wedding, that’s fine, but make sure you don’t rush this. Give yourself plenty of time to make healthy choices and, if you don’t reach your goal, don’t be too hard on yourself.

If you’re stood at the right place, at the right time, next to the right fiance…that’s the most important thing!

Book the entertainment

I know the infographic mentions DJs and Bands specifically, but the wedding magician in me can’t ignore the other, more magical and comedic, wedding entertainment alternatives…

HINT HINT!

Whatever kind of wedding magician…er, I mean entertainer, you book, book it quickly – the sooner the better. Sure, you might be one of the lucky brides and grooms whose perfect wedding magician…sorry, did I do it again?

You might get lucky and your wedding entertainer of choice is available at the last minute, but why take the chance? If you’re sure of what/who you want entertaining your wedding guests, book them as soon as you can.

Get Officiant!

There’s one vital element for every wedding.

No, I’m not talking about the alcohol fueled family bust-up.

I mean that every wedding has someone at the front, probably with a folder or book, reading out the official bits and guiding you along.

This person is the one that is legally going to make you man and wife, so it’s probably important that, with nine months of wedding planning to go, you choose someone.

You could make the argument that all wedding officiants are the same, but, as your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life (it’s up there with moving house, havings kids and that time you got an all chocolate Kit Kat from that all night garage!), you might as well at least try and find someone you find pleasant and amiable.

Like booking a wedding entertainer, once you’ve found someone, don’t wait. Wedding officiants get booked up fast and unless they look very similar to this chap:

they can’t be in two places at the same time, so book them early!
