Event Planning Tip – A Bullet Point Task List Works Because:

  • It forces you to break ideas and projects into specific tasks.
  • It helps clarify exactly how many things you have to do to get the job done.
  • It’s easier to look at, rather than a page of random scribblings.
  • Let’s be honest, the word “bullet” is just cool.
  • You can clearly track your progress, as you tick off items.
  • It’s quicker.
  • It’s far less daunting than other forms of writing, so it’s easier to start.
  • It helps organise the information into a desirable order.
  • You can easily move bullet points around, out or in of the list.
  • It makes the information more readable.
  • Specific information is easier to locate in bullet point form.
  • It makes it easier to share information with your team.
  • You can break off into deeper bullet points, in case you need to:
    • Explore the subject further,
    • Make more detailed notes about a specific bullet, or
    • Make rude drawings that don’t get in the way of the main points.
  • The focus is where it should be – on the information in the bullets. You’re not going to be judged on presentation. No one cares about the paper, the colour of the ink or the font (unless it’s comic sans, in which case, you’re probably going to Hell!).

If you’re looking for a magician for your next event, you could do worse than book me. There are several reasons for this, which I’ll bullet point below:

  • I’m a full-time professional entertainer. You won’t bump into me stocking shelves in Lidl during the week.
  • I’m experienced – just shy of 10 years performing as a full-time pro.
  • I’ve worked for some big companies, such as Pepsi, AstraZeneca, Unilever, The Daily Mail and Bae.
  • I have lots of lovely testimonials on my website.
  • Nobody has ever died (either by natural causes or by being murdered) at any of my gigs.
  • That’s probably enough.
